Why Kat?

Movement has been my anchor for as long as I can remember. I grew up splitting my time between team practices and tagging along to every fitness class my mom could find. As a nurse and long-distance runner, she was serious about mobility work and recovery. Teaching me early on that taking care of your body between workouts matters just as much as the workout itself. We were doing Pilates moves well before I even knew what Pilates was.

Following in her footsteps, running became my go-to. For years, it was how I managed stress, cleared my head, and stayed strong. But after logging countless miles and working long hours in the film industry, my body started sending signals I couldn’t ignore. Chronic lower back pain. Tight hips. The feeling that I was wearing myself down instead of building myself up.

I needed an alternative, and I found it in Pilates.

After dabbling in hot yoga, I discovered mat Pilates at a studio in Atlanta. Within three months, everything changed. The back pain that had plagued me for years—gone. My body felt stronger, more mobile, more capable than it had in a long time. I wasn’t just working out anymore; I was actually healing.

That transformation made me a full convert. I loved Pilates so much that I became an instructor so I could guide others through their own journey back to strength and ease.
